Sam's Liberry

The bits and bobs of Librarianship

Who, What, When, Where, & Why

Welcome to my blog, site, dumping grounds, portfolio for myself and others to share, ponder, and dissect the innerworkings of the library, learners, and all.

This will be an evolving realm for myself, and I can’t quite share the vision or dynamic quite yet, because it is in the very early bitter stages of nothingness. A hope and a dream one might say, except it is very blurry, hazy, and out of eyesight.

An image of myself in front of trees. A white woman with dark red hair, glasses, black clothes and a brown suede jacket on with my camera bag and a green messenger bag.

My name is Sam (she/they), and I am often in company of my partner, our three cats [Andy, Bathory, and Vlad], and my dear friends, family, and coworkers. I graduated from Fresno State in 2020 with my bachelors in Psychology, working in elementary schools during undergrad. I got hired as a library media technician at an elementary school in 2021 and shortly after pursued and completing my Master’s in Library and Information Science from San José State University in 2025. That leaves me here, enjoying my time as a school librarian but wondering what is next.

I fell in love with the opportunity before me, and while my motivation is still high post-grad, I want to keep the ball rolling. For a general understanding of this space, it serves to keep myself accountable, up-to-date, connected, and in service of MLIS candidates to come.
